These two were such a joy to photograph. From the second I arrived, it felt like we had been friends forever. Their at-home engagement session in Calgary was cozy, relaxed and full of personality — a perfect reflection of their relationship and the little things they love most.

An Intimate Story Told at Home

Instead of heading to the mountains or a studio, Ashton and Alex chose to have their engagement session right in their own home. Capturing the everyday moments that matter most is such a beautiful way to celebrate your story.

We documented some of their favorite things to do together. There was coffee on the counter, time spent building Lego sets and a walk around the neighborhood with their adorable dog Bagel. These moments felt natural, unposed and full of connection.

While I typically shoot in softer lighting for engagement or couples sessions, we decided to embrace the big, beautiful sun this time. The result was vibrant, joy-filled photos with rich contrast and highlights that I absolutely loved. Their energy was so fun and laid back, which made the whole session feel effortless.
