Beautiful Summer Small Town Wedding at Sheppard Family Park

There’s just something about a summer wedding in Alberta. Samantha and Morgan’s wedding day in High River was filled with golden light, emotional moments, and the kind of genuine laughter that sticks with you. Their celebration blended rustic charm with deep personal meaning, creating a day that was truly unforgettable.

Getting Ready in High River, Alberta

The morning began with both Samantha and Morgan getting ready at their separate locations, surrounded by their closest friends and family. It was the kind of start that felt calm but full of anticipation which is one of my favourite parts of a wedding day to photograph.

The air felt warm, the light was perfect, and everything about the day pointed toward a celebration that was laid-back, heartfelt, and full of country charm.

A Sentimental Ceremony at Sheppard Family Park

Samantha and Morgan chose Sheppard Family Park in High River for their wedding ceremony—a location that holds extra meaning for Morgan and his family. His grandparents had donated their vintage truck to the park years ago, making the space not just beautiful, but personal.

The park offered a peaceful, natural backdrop for their vows. With open skies, historic buildings, and Alberta’s summer sun, it created the perfect blend of rustic and romantic. Their ceremony was surrounded by beautiful flowers, gardens and trees which added to the romantic summer ceremony feel.

A Cozy Reception at Meadowbank Community Centre

After time spent celebrating with their loved ones, we made our way to the Meadowbank Community Centre in Cayley, Alberta, for their reception. The space was warmly decorated with twinkle lights that danced across the ceiling and created a cozy, intimate atmosphere for the evening.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, their dance floor came alive with laughter, happy tears, and the kind of energy you only get when two people are exactly where they’re meant to be.
